The Saudi Dates Trademark is a certification mark indicating that a company complies with proper production and supply procedures, meets standard requirements for food safety and date classification, and adheres to environmental sustainability standards.

The Trademark aims to support product classification, promote sustainability, and ensure the safety of both products and processes.

Saudi Food & Drug Authority (SFDA): Classifies factories based on the Factory Evaluation Program. Private Laboratories: Collect and test date samples for pesticide residues and microbiological safety. National Centre for Palms & Dates: Oversees operations, monitors compliance, and issues the final decision. Takamul Holding: Receives trademark applications, reviews the submitted documents, and issues preliminary decisions.

Compliance with standard specifications, conducting the required product testing, adherence to the authority’s regulations .

Valid industrial license. Ensuring products are free from pesticide residues and microbiological contamination. Achieving an A / A+ rating from the Saudi Food & Drug Authority. Adherence to the approved date classification. Equipped with an automatic grading line, in compliance with post-harvest requirements.

Saudi Dates Trademark Fee: SAR 10,000 (exclusive of VAT and testing fees) Testing fees vary depending on the product being registered, and may include: Pesticide Residue Test: SAR 595 . Microbiological Test: SAR 280 . Sample Collection (per location): (Salmonella, Yeast and Molds, Total Coliform, E.coli): SAR 650. Total Testing Fee: SAR 1,525. Value Added Tax (15%): SAR 229 . Grand Total: SAR 1,754 .

The applicant will be granted a corrective period to comply with the trademark requirements and may repeat the laboratory testing for a fee.
