About the Program
As part of its efforts to promote excellence in the global date palm sector, the National Centre for Palms & Dates launched the International Award to encourage research, foster innovation, and develop new products in the palm and dates sector. Comprising three main categories, the Award also facilitates knowledge exchange to create solutions that enhance both the quality and sustainability of palms and dates. Held annually, the Award reflects the Centre’s commitment to advancing scientific, technical, and innovative development in the sector and welcomes contributions from individuals and organizations worldwide.
Program Objectives
- Contribute to achieving national priorities in research, development, and innovation.
- Recognize organizations, institutions, and individuals who contribute to advancing the palm and dates sector.
- Encourage innovation and development of distinctive technologies, products, and practices within the palm and dates industry.
- Attract top-tier researchers, innovators, and experts in the palm and dates sector.
Program Requirements
- Applications must be submitted in Arabic or English only.
- Submitted projects must not have previously participated in any national or international competitions.
- Winners must wait at least three years from the date of their last win to apply again.
- Each applicant can apply for only one category.
- All application materials are securely stored at the Secretariat of the International Award of the National Centre for Palms & Dates and will not be returned to applicants, whether successful or not.
- Applicants must specify the framework of their submitted projects, potential partners or contributors, and source(s) of funding.
