His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, inaugurated today the “Al-Ahsa Dates Season 2025”, in the presence of a number of officials and specialists, at King Abdullah Dates City. 

During the inauguration ceremony, HRH oversaw the signing of several agreements aimed at supporting the dates sector and enhancing the agricultural supply chain. These efforts are part of initiatives to develop production, marketing, and processing systems, empower farmers, encourage investment in the palm and dates sector, and open new marketing channels to support the sustainability and efficiency of the sector in line with the objectives of Vision 2030. 

The Governor of Al-Ahsa emphasized that this season represents one of the key pillars supporting the dates sector. He highlighted that the Al-Ahsa Dates Auction is a unique initiative contributing to the economic and cultural prominence of Al-Ahsa dates, as Al-Ahsa is one of the largest and most important dates-producing regions. 

He also noted the support and attention the dates sector receives from the wise leadership—may God protect them—which directly contributes to achieving developmental and economic objectives related to this national product. He called on all concerned parties to continue integrated efforts to further develop this season and maximize benefits for farmers and consumers, contributing to the growth of the local economy and enhancing the agricultural sector’s contribution to the GDP. 

Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sahlawi, CEO of the National Center for Palm and Dates, explained that the center organizes the Al-Ahsa Dates Season, which is part of seasonal dates markets across the Kingdom. He noted that activating the Seasonal Markets Platform helps improve the quality and efficiency of dates markets in various regions, achieving digital transformation in the sector. He added that the Al-Ahsa Oasis hosts over 2.5 million palm trees and 35 dates factories. 

Engineer Essam Al-Mulla, Secretary of Al-Ahsa, stated that the Al-Ahsa Dates Season represents a leading economic and marketing platform that reinforces Al-Ahsa’s position as a global dates oasis. He emphasized that the season supports farmers and opens new markets, in line with Vision 2030.
