Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, the National Centre for Palms & Dates signed 14 memoranda of understanding with several Chinese entities across public and private sectors. The agreements aim to enhance the global presence of Saudi dates and increase exports of dates and their derived products.

The agreements were signed during the Saudi-Chinese Business Forum held in Beijing, which gathered specialists and industry leaders from both countries to promote Saudi exports and advance agricultural sustainability.

The MoUs aim to foster cooperation between the Center, Saudi date companies, and their Chinese counterparts across several fields, with a focus on introducing advanced agricultural technologies to the Kingdom’s date sector and broadening marketing and export opportunities.

The Center noted that the partnerships include a memorandum of understanding with JD.com to establish a dedicated digital pavilion for Saudi dates on its platform, enabling local producers to promote and sell their products in the Chinese market. Additional memoranda of understanding were signed with the Chinese University and Afro Group to leverage modern agricultural technologies, as well as with Alibaba and Expotech to launch a digital pavilion on Alibaba’s global platform and onboard an increasing number of Saudi date companies.

These agreements fall within the Center’s broader strategy to strengthen local and international partnerships, enhance the reach and competitiveness of Saudi date exports, and support the sector’s sustainable growth.
