The National Center for Palms and Dates has revealed a rise in Saudi Arabia’s date exports in 2024, with their value reaching SAR 1.695 billion, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics. The figures showed that the Kingdom’s date production volume exceeded 1.9 million tons in the same year, reflecting the Kingdom’s high production capacity in the palms and dates sector.

Saudi dates have achieved remarkable global expansion, reaching 133 countries worldwide, with a 15.9% increase in export value compared to 2023. This growth is attributed to ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of Saudi dates and expand their global marketing reach. It underscores the growing importance of the palms and dates sector in supporting the national economy and diversifying income sources.

Aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030, which plays a pivotal role in boosting non-oil revenues, Saudi date exports have undergone a significant transformation. Since 2016, the value of date exports has surged by 192.5%, up to 2024. This represents an annual cumulative growth rate of 12.7%, highlighting the Kingdom’s sustained success in consolidating its position as a leading global exporter of dates. These figures emphasize the increasing significance of Saudi dates and their role in enhancing global food security.

This achievement reflects the strong support of the Kingdom’s wise leadership for the palms and dates sector, which is a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s cultural and heritage identity. It also demonstrates the collaborative efforts between date producers, exporters, and government entities to streamline export procedures and strengthen global market reach through effective partnerships with the private sector.
