The National Center for Palm and Dates revealed that Saudi Arabia achieved an increase in the export of dates and its derivatives in 2022, reaching a value of 1.28 billion Saudi riyals, with an increase of 5.4% compared to the previous year. This announcement was made during the Center's representation of the Kingdom at the Macfruit exhibition for fruits and vegetables, held from May 3 to 5, 2023, in Rimini, Italy. The exhibition, attended by 830 exhibitors and over 38,000 visitors from various countries worldwide, attracted significant attention, especially from major international companies specializing in the fruits and vegetables sector. The National Center for Palm and Dates' participation in the 'Macfrut' exhibition is part of its commitment to building quality partnerships with relevant entities inside and outside the Kingdom. It aligns with the Center's strategy to participate in specialized local and international events to enhance the contribution of the date sector to the GDP, promote non-oil revenues, and stimulate the national export system, achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The Center is actively working on implementing various initiatives to increase national exports of dates and their derivatives, raise local consumption rates, improve agricultural and industrial practices to enhance production quality, provide support and subsidies to farmers, offer marketing services, and disseminate necessary information about the date sector. Additionally, the Center aims to strengthen international and local relationships.
